On January 16th, the Provincial Government Information Office held a press conference to comprehensively introduce the import and export situation of Henan Province's foreign trade in 2025 and answer questions from reporters.
Focusing on stabilizing scale, optimizing structure, expanding market, and strengthening resilience, the province's foreign trade has remained stable and improved, with a trend towards novelty and excellence. For the first time in the year, imports and exports exceeded 900 billion yuan, achieving the best historical results. "According to Mo Tao, a member of the Zhengzhou Customs Party Committee and Deputy Director, in 2025, Henan Province's foreign trade imports and exports will reach 935.67 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.1% (the same below), 10.3 percentage points higher than the national average. Among them, exports will reach 616.82 billion yuan, an increase of 18%, and imports will reach 318.85 billion yuan, an increase of 7.2%.
Multiple data sets new historical highs
By 2025, Henan's foreign trade scale will steadily rank first in the country, tenth in the country, and second in the central region, showing the characteristics of strong mobilization, excellent structure, and full vitality as a whole. The scale of imports and exports has hit a new high for 9 consecutive months since April, with annual exports exceeding 600 billion yuan for the first time, setting a new historical high.
The main body of the enterprise is pioneering and enterprising. In 2025, there will be 14000 enterprises with export performance in the province, an increase of 2197 compared to 2024. Among them, there are 72 enterprises with an import and export scale exceeding 1 billion yuan, with an import and export volume of 691.21 billion yuan, an increase of 20.9%, and a 14.5 percentage point increase in the province's growth rate. The role of private enterprises as the "main force" in foreign trade has become more prominent, achieving an import and export of 617.58 billion yuan, an increase of 6.7%. During the same period, the customs increased efforts to cultivate advanced certification enterprises, with 121 AEO enterprises in the province importing and exporting RMB 608.86 billion, an increase of 14.2%.
The circle of friends continues to expand. By 2025, Henan's foreign trade partners will cover over 200 countries and regions worldwide, with a total import and export value of 488.22 billion yuan to the top five trading partners, accounting for 52.2% of the total import and export value. Among them, imports and exports to the European Union and ASEAN increased by 18.1% and 15.6% respectively, while the growth rates to the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia all exceeded 25%. In addition, imports and exports to countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road" reached 442.23 billion yuan, up 14.3%. Our province exports over 100000 vehicles to Latin America and ASEAN, and imports over 7100 tons of fresh durian from Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia.
The structure of foreign trade is constantly moving towards innovation and optimization
By 2025, the export of high-tech products in our province will reach 249.86 billion yuan, an increase of 9.4%, and high-tech and high value-added products will be deeply integrated into the global industrial chain. The province's automobile exports reached 56.09 billion yuan, an increase of 66.8%. Zhengzhou's shield tunneling machine exports have ranked among the top 2 in the country for 8 consecutive years. Luoyang's bearing exports have grown at a rate of 26.2%. Xinxiang cranes are exported to more than 120 countries and regions around the world.
Export products are upgrading to new levels. Throughout the year, our province exported mechanical and electrical products worth 409.63 billion yuan, an increase of 23.3%, accounting for 66.4% of the total export value. Among them, the export of high-tech electronic information products increased by 7.9%. The total export of "new three types" products, namely electric vehicles, lithium batteries, and photovoltaic products, reached 33.61 billion yuan, an increase of 1.8 times. Among them, the export of electric vehicles reached 30.87 billion yuan, an increase of 2.5 times, and the scale reached a historical high. The export scale of 12 commodities including mobile phones, hair products, buses, and silver ranks first in the country.
With the upgrading of foreign trade quality, our province has emerged a large number of well-known local brands that sell well both domestically and internationally and are renowned worldwide. In the context of innovation driven development, Zhengzhou Customs has taken multiple measures to support intellectual property protection, combined with local industrial development and characteristic advantages, to help Henan build a group of export intellectual property advantage enterprises; Effectively crack down on infringement and counterfeiting activities in the inbound and outbound links, and strengthen customs protection of intellectual property rights in new formats such as cross-border e-commerce and market procurement.
At the same time, the potential of domestic demand is effectively released. By 2025, the import of four commodities including silver ore sand and wig materials from Henan Province will rank first in the country. The import of consumer goods continues to grow rapidly, with luggage, alcohol and beverages, and dairy imports increasing by 76.7%, 80.5%, and 60.1% respectively. Zhengzhou Customs has implemented a fast customs clearance mode of "advance customs declaration, simplified process, and goods inspection and release upon arrival" for imported fresh food and cold chain goods by air. Zhengzhou Airport Port will import over 20000 tons of fresh products by 2025, an increase of nearly twice.
The energy level of the channel platform continues to improve
By 2025, the international cargo and mail throughput of the Zhengzhou Luxembourg "Air Silk Road" will exceed 140000 tons; TIR's international road transportation business has expanded in volume and improved in quality. 22 transportation routes have been opened from Zhengzhou to 9 countries including Russia and Uzbekistan, and the first international road transportation hub in inland areas has been unveiled and put into operation in Zhengzhou; The expansion of the China Europe (Asia) freight train has resulted in an increase of approximately 190000 standard containers under supervision and a freight volume of nearly 1.9 million tons throughout the year; The new model of "contactless customs clearance" for intelligent travel inspection has landed at Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport, empowering technology to effectively ensure that the number of inbound and outbound personnel at Zhengzhou Airport exceeds one million.
The vitality of the foreign trade open platform has burst forth, with a total import and export of 518.63 billion yuan in five comprehensive bonded zones in Henan, an increase of 17%, accounting for 55.4% of the province's total import and export value. Among them, the foreign trade scale of Xinzheng Comprehensive Bonded Zone ranks second in the country.
Relying on the advantages of intermodal hubs such as Zhengzhou Air Port and Zhengzhou International Land Port, Zhengzhou Customs strongly supports the coordinated development of the "Air Land Sea" Silk Road. Adopting a "regular flight+temporary charter flight" approach to support Luxembourg Cargo Airlines in operating 8 international cargo routes on a regular basis. Focusing on expanding channels, increasing capacity, and reducing costs, we have ensured that the international cargo and mail volume at Zhengzhou Air Port exceeds 660000 tons, setting a new historical high. Promote the application of the "Railway Express" and "Check before Install" models in the China Europe (Asia) freight trains, and guide enterprises to make good use of the "Port of Departure Tax Refund" policy. Promote new business models such as "cross-border e-commerce+air cargo charter flight", "cross-border e-commerce+belly cargo carrying", and "cross-border e-commerce+TIR". Promote the export supervision model of "land sea linkage sea rail direct transportation", open up sea routes from Zhengzhou to Qingdao, Lianyungang, Ningbo, and Tianjin, and achieve fast release upon arrival and direct loading upon arrival.
In 2025, Henan's foreign trade will experience both quantitative and qualitative growth, with its contribution rate to the national foreign trade growth increasing from 0.5% in 2024 to 7%.
