Qingdao's' Intelligent Manufacturing 'Light Rail Car Goes to Chile
Recently, at Qingdao Dagang Terminal 7, a giant loading and unloading arm steadily lifted a section of light rail cars weighing over 40 tons and slowly landed them on the deck of the "STARLIMA" cargo ship. The high-end light rail cars produced by CRRC Qingdao Sifang Locomotive and Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. were supervised by customs on site and set off for Chile, becoming the "Chinese business card" for local urban mobility.
It is reported that these 18 light rail cars are the last batch of orders for the project, and 144 light rail cars have been exported to Chile in batches since 2021. As a light rail car with China's "smart manufacturing" hard power, its lightweight body combined with low-energy traction system is suitable for urban transportation scenes in Chile, while also considering operational efficiency and passenger comfort, and has been widely praised in the local area.
As a super large complete set of equipment, the characteristics of long and heavy body have brought certain obstacles to the transportation and loading and unloading of light rail cars. In addition, the export shipping schedule of this batch of goods is very tight, which puts forward higher requirements for customs clearance efficiency, "said Liu Junfeng, Marketing Manager of Qingdao Port Dagang Branch.
To meet the practical needs of enterprises for fast customs clearance, Qingdao Dagang Customs, a subsidiary of Qingdao Customs, has launched a customs clearance service guarantee mechanism for "large goods". It cooperates with ports, shipping agents, and freight forwarders to open exclusive fast channels and comprehensively uses the "paperless audit+mobile inspection+video monitoring" mode to ensure that these light rail cars can be loaded onto ships and set sail quickly, safely, and efficiently.
According to statistics, by 2025, the total supervised export value of locomotives and freight for railways and tramways at Qingdao Port will reach 4.25 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.05 times. (Li Chen/Text)
