Recently, Weihai Customs, a subsidiary of Qingdao Customs, seized 32000 tobacco products illegally carried by inbound passengers through airport travel inspection channels.

The on-site customs officer found that the baggage inspection image of a passenger who selected the "no declaration channel" for customs clearance was abnormal while monitoring their luggage and belongings. After on-site unpacking and inspection, it was found that the luggage contained 160 heated cigarettes, totaling 32000.

Tobacco products are restricted by the state from entering the country. According to relevant laws and regulations, passengers are allowed to carry 400 cigarettes (including heated cigarettes) tax-free; Among them, passengers entering from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macao Special Administrative Region are exempt from carrying 200 cigarettes (including heated cigarettes) duty-free. Carrying tobacco products exceeding the prescribed quantity into the country will be dealt with by the customs in accordance with the law.
