The United States launches a double investigation into fresh mushrooms

On January 6, 2026, in response to an application submitted by the Fresh Mushrooms Fair Trade Coalition and its member companies, the US Department of Commerce announced an anti-dumping and countervailing investigation into fresh mushrooms imported from Canada. This case mainly involves products under the US Customs code 0709.51.0100. The US International Trade Commission (ITC) is expected to make an initial industrial injury determination no later than February 2, 2026. If the US International Trade Commission determines that the import of the product in question constitutes substantial harm or a threat of substantial harm to the domestic industry in the United States, the US Department of Commerce will continue to investigate the case and is expected to make a preliminary anti subsidy ruling on February 18, 2026, and a preliminary anti dumping ruling on May 4, 2026.

According to US statistics, the amount of investigated products imported by the US from Canada in 2024 is approximately $350 million.
