Weihai seafood is sold globally with its freshness
Recently, in the production workshop of Newt Seafood Processing (Rushan) Co., Ltd., workers are cleaning, shelling, and quick-freezing a batch of freshly harvested Rushan oysters. After being supervised and released by Weihai Customs, which is under Qingdao Customs, this batch of oysters will be shipped to the Malaysian market.
Weihai boasts excellent coastline resources and a solid foundation in marine fisheries. Leveraging its unique marine ecological advantages, it has cultivated a diversified aquatic product industry cluster, including sea cucumber, oyster, fish, shrimp, and crab. Its brand recognition and international market influence continue to expand.
"Our new production base has just officially commenced production, equipped with advanced facilities such as a sterile purification workshop and precise liquid nitrogen temperature control. This year, during the peak season, we achieved a doubling of our production capacity," said Zhao Haonan, the head of the company, unable to hide his smile. "Our goods are always delivered to foreign customers with guaranteed quality and quantity, and the rapid customs clearance has played a significant role."
"The large-scale export of aquatic products has raised higher requirements for customs clearance efficiency," said Fu Lidong, the head of the Second Inspection Division of Weihai Customs, which is under Qingdao Customs. To ensure the "efficiency clearance" of aquatic product exports within its jurisdiction, the customs has focused on port characteristics and industry features, continuously optimized support measures for aquatic product enterprises' exports, established a "green channel" for the inspection and supervision of specialty aquatic products, and added convenient measures such as "cloud issuance" and "one certificate, one negotiation", achieving "fast inspection, fast examination, and fast release" and facilitating "zero delay" in aquatic product customs clearance.
On the basis of accelerating customs clearance efficiency, Weihai Customs has also established a full-chain supervision model from "source - processing - export", guiding enterprises to improve their quality and safety management systems, strengthen various indicator tests at the source, strictly monitor the entire production and processing process, and remove obstacles for enterprises to accurately meet international market standards.
When exploring the Russian market, Weihai Qingzheng Lanhai Food Co., Ltd. encountered difficulties due to its unfamiliarity with the microbial requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union. The customs assistance team promptly reviewed regulatory standards and risk warnings, analyzed technical points and testing indicators, guided the company to strengthen quality control in key links, and helped the company successfully secure more export orders.
"From standard interpretation to process guidance, we have avoided many detours. Now, not only have we established a firm foothold in the market, but our export value has also increased by 5.3% since the beginning of this year," said Yao Ruhai, the chairman of the company.
According to statistics, in the first 11 months of this year, Weihai Customs supervised the export of aquatic products worth 3.28 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 9.1%. (Written by Xu Ge, Wang Xiang, Jing Dapeng)
