Customs at Daxing Airport seized 166 cigars

Recently, during the supervision of the luggage of inbound passengers by the Daxing Airport Customs under the jurisdiction of Beijing Customs, it was discovered that a passenger who chose the "green channel" for customs clearance had abnormal baggage inspection images. After unpacking and inspection, the on-site customs officers seized a total of 11 boxes and 166 cigars in the passenger's luggage. The passenger claimed to be carrying the above-mentioned items for the purpose of purchasing on behalf of others for profit.

Customs reminder: Tobacco products are restricted by the state from entering the country. According to the "Measures for the Collection of Import and Export Tariffs, Value Added Tax, and Consumption Tax on Goods" and other regulations, inbound passengers are allowed to carry 400 cigarettes (including heated cigarettes), 20 cigars, or 500 grams of tobacco duty-free, provided that the total value of their luggage does not exceed the tax-free amount; Among them, passengers entering from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macao Special Administrative Region are exempt from carrying 200 cigarettes (including heated cigarettes), 10 cigars, or 250 grams of tobacco.
