The first duty-free shop in Fuzhou city has officially opened for business

On December 18th, the first duty-free shop in Fuzhou officially opened for customers, adopting a business model that combines "duty-free+taxed", "imported+domestically produced", and "online+offline" to further stimulate new vitality in international consumption.

Urban duty-free shops refer to shops approved by the State Council and established in accordance with regulations within the city to sell duty-free goods to passengers who are about to leave the country. With the advantage of duty-free policies, duty-free goods in the shop are exempt from tariffs, import value-added tax, and consumption tax, and have obvious advantages in price compared to ordinary counters. "Liu Fanghao, Deputy Director of the Port Supervision Department of Fuzhou Customs, introduced," The opening of this urban duty-free shop is the fourth duty-free shop assisted by Fuzhou Customs in Fuzhou City, filling the gap in the duty-free consumption scene of the core business district of Fuzhou City, realizing the coordinated layout of port duty-free shops and urban duty-free shops, meeting the diversified needs of domestic and foreign passengers, and fully enhancing the capacity building of Fuzhou City as an international consumption city and its attractiveness to international tourists

The duty-free shop is located in the core business district of Gulou District, Fuzhou City, with a business area of nearly 1000 square meters. It has set up two major areas, namely, the duty-free goods area and the duty-free goods area. Its sales products cover many categories such as perfume cosmetics, wristwatch jewelry, bags, sunglasses, drinks, electronic products, as well as popular entertainment, health products, drinks, etc. It is also the first shop in Fujian that sells Milan Winter Olympics and "Madun Dun" New Year series products.

According to Xu Shan, General Manager of the Fuzhou Duty Free Store of China Duty Free Group, in addition to selling numerous internationally renowned duty-free products, the store also sells Fujian local intangible cultural heritage crafts such as bodice lacquerware and cow horn crafts, cultural and creative products in cooperation with Taiwanese cartoonist Jimmy, and products from award-winning suppliers of the "Cross Strait Cultural Creation Plan". Overseas consumers can also enjoy departure tax refund discounts when purchasing domestic products in the taxed area, providing consumers with a new cultural and tourism consumption experience with unique Fujian Taiwan cultural characteristics. While facilitating consumers to choose international brands, it also builds a bridge for local specialty products to go global.

With duty-free shops, you can choose products in the city center and no longer have to rush to the airport in advance, "Ms. Zhang, who often travels abroad, said excitedly." The store is located in the city center, which is really convenient and the prices are also very favorable. For example, the women's shoes I bought today are more than 1400 yuan cheaper than the counter price for the same style

Mr. Chen, a Taiwanese compatriot, also found it convenient: "I came to mainland China for tourism. I saw news online about the opening of a duty-free shop in Fuzhou, so I came to take a look. I also saw the cultural and creative products of Taiwanese cartoonist Jimmy, which I really like. The local intangible cultural heritage crafts in Fujian are exquisitely made and very distinctive. For example, I bought a lacquer tea cup this time, and after calculating the tax refund, it was equivalent to a 10% discount

According to Du Dan, the head of the Comprehensive Business Section 2 of the Rongcheng Customs Office in Kuai'an, Fuzhou Customs, the duty-free goods sold on site will be packaged and sent to the duty-free goods pickup point in the exit area of the Fuzhou Changle International Airport terminal under customs supervision. Customers can pick up the goods with shopping vouchers and valid entry and exit documents. Passengers who hold valid entry and exit documents and are about to depart from Fuzhou by air transport within 60 days (inclusive) can shop in the duty-free zone. There is no limit on shopping, but it must comply with the customs regulations on the reasonable quantity for personal use by inbound and outbound passengers. If there is a tax area in the store, it is open for sale to all consumers. When purchasing in the store, customers can pick up their items immediately. Overseas travelers can also enjoy the "buy and refund" service for tax refunds upon departure.

To support the construction of the first duty-free shop in Fuzhou, Fuzhou Customs has established a special working group to tailor a "one shop, one policy" regulatory plan, strengthen functional guidance and coordination, arrange business experts to connect with enterprises, provide training on duty-free shop sales and management policies, and answer questions and clarify doubts. Multiple on-site investigations have been conducted to guide enterprises in arranging site layouts reasonably. Assist enterprises in sorting out the entire process path and management points of duty-free goods allocation, import, sales, returns, etc., and help enterprises complete the entire process of construction. It is reported that from January to November this year, the number of passengers entering and exiting Fuzhou Changle Airport was about 1.46 million, a year-on-year increase of 16.73%, with huge consumption potential.
