From January to October, Fujian's imports from the least developed countries surged by 32.7%
Since China implemented a 100% zero tariff policy for all least developed countries that have established diplomatic relations with China, the trade relations between Fujian Province and the least developed countries have become increasingly close, and the scale of imports and exports has continued to expand. According to Xiamen Customs statistics, from January to October, Fujian Province's imports and exports to the least developed countries amounted to 61.44 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.7%. Among them, exports amounted to 37.16 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.5%; Imports amounted to 24.28 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 32.7%.
According to officials from Xiamen Customs, the Democratic Republic of Congo ranks first in Fujian Province's trade with the least developed countries, with imports and exports of 12.33 billion yuan from January to October, a year-on-year increase of 35.6%; Following closely behind are Cambodia and Bangladesh, with imports and exports of 7.73 billion and 5.87 billion yuan respectively, accounting for 42.2% of Fujian Province's total imports and exports to the least developed countries.
In terms of imports, metal ore and copper materials are the main commodities imported by Fujian Province from the least developed countries. From January to October, Fujian Province imported 12.41 billion yuan worth of metal ore and 4.65 billion yuan worth of copper materials from the least developed countries, an increase of 100.1% and 43.4% respectively. Together, they accounted for 70.3% of Fujian Province's total imports from the least developed countries during the same period.
Data shows that Fujian Province's exports to the least developed countries are mainly mechanical and electrical products, labor products, and agricultural products. From January to October, the exports were 13.54 billion yuan, 8.45 billion yuan, and 3.15 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 9.7%, a decrease of 1.7%, and an increase of 40.7% year-on-year, accounting for 67.6% of Fujian Province's total exports to the least developed countries during the same period.
