Front page of China National Gate Times: Ningbo Customs Seizes Infringing Goods from the US, Canada, and Mexico World Cup
Recently, Beilun Customs, a subsidiary of Ningbo Customs, seized a batch of goods that infringed on the intellectual property rights of the 2026 US Canada Mexico World Cup in the freight channel, totaling more than 12000 pieces.
The person in charge of the Inspection Department of the Beilun Customs Office in Chuanshan introduced that the batch of goods had multiple declared product names and different packaging. During the inspection, the customs officers found the official mascots of the 2026 US Canada Mexico World Cup, "Meipul", "Sayu" and "Krach", which were just announced in September this year. They immediately realized that this batch of goods may contain infringing goods from the US Canada Mexico World Cup. After conducting a thorough inspection of the container, the mascot packaging box, football, and keychain bearing the "FIFA" trademark were gradually seized.
It is understood that the above-mentioned goods have obvious 2026 US Canada Mexico World Cup logos, and after contacting the intellectual property rights holder, it has been confirmed that they are infringing products. After counting, a total of 5930 mascots, 3000 soccer balls, and 3600 keychains were involved.
At present, the infringing goods have been lawfully detained, and the case is being followed up by relevant departments of Ningbo Customs. In recent years, Ningbo Customs has always attached equal importance to supervision and service, continuously improved the risk control model, summarized and extracted high-risk data of intellectual property infringement, adopted targeted risk analysis and inspection measures, and fulfilled its intellectual property protection responsibilities tirelessly while ensuring customs clearance efficiency, effectively maintaining a fair and orderly trade environment.
