Ministry of Commerce: China welcomes EU to restart price commitment negotiations again

Beijing, December 11 (Xinhua) -- On the 11th, He Yadong, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, responded to questions from reporters about the EU's anti subsidy case for electric vehicles, saying that China and Europe had just held a trade remedy dialogue this week and will continue negotiations next week. The Chinese side welcomes the EU to restart negotiations on price commitments and appreciates the EU's return to the track of resolving differences through dialogue.

The Ministry of Commerce held a regular press conference on the same day. A reporter asked: It is reported that China and Europe held a trade remedy dialogue this week, and the European Commission recently launched a review of price commitments made by certain Chinese companies in the EU's electric vehicle anti subsidy case. What is China's comment on this?

He Yadong emphasized that the China Chamber of Commerce for Machinery and Electronics has been entrusted by different types of Chinese enterprises to propose solutions that represent the overall position of the industry. China and Europe have conducted multiple rounds of consultations on this issue and achieved certain results. If the European side holds separate consultations with individual enterprises while negotiating with the Chinese side, it is not conducive to maintaining mutual trust between the two sides and promoting overall efficiency.

He Yadong expressed the hope that the European side will effectively implement the important consensus of the China EU Leaders' Meeting, strictly abide by the principle of non discrimination, and resolve frictions as soon as possible through dialogue and consultation on the basis of previous efforts, creating an open and stable market environment for the development of China EU industries.
