Pingtan Port imports carrot seeds for the first time

Recently, a batch of 500 kilograms of carrot seeds boarded the "Taipei Express" and entered the country from Pingtan Jinjing Port Area, arriving at the designated supervision site for imported seedlings. After on-site inspection and sampling by Pingtan Customs officers under Fuzhou Customs, the batch of seeds was immediately removed and transported to a designated storage location in Minhou, Fuzhou for temporary storage. After passing the laboratory test, this batch of seeds will be used for agricultural production next spring. This is the first time carrot seeds have been imported at Pingtan Port.

It is reported that this batch of carrot seeds originates from Chile and has the characteristics of high yield, crispy and sweet taste, which is highly favored by farmers and consumers. Seeds are fresh goods that require high environmental conditions and technical requirements such as temperature and humidity. In order to ensure efficient customs clearance of seeds, we actively communicate with enterprises, understand the import plan and storage requirements of carrot seeds, guide enterprises to make good use of facilitation measures such as' advance declaration 'and' conditional withdrawal of imported seedlings', open up a 'green channel', coordinate with ports, ship owners, customs brokers and other units, and prioritize port inspections of seeds, "said Li Jie, Deputy Director of the Inspection Department of Pingtan Customs stationed in Jinjing.

It is reported that with the convenience measures of "conditional removal", imported seeds can be removed from the designated supervision site to the temporary storage site without waiting for the laboratory quarantine and identification results after completing the port inspection at the customs without any abnormalities and taking samples for inspection.

The 'conditional removal' measures of customs not only help us save storage costs at ports, but also enable seeds to reach suitable storage environments faster, greatly improving the efficiency and survival rate of imported seedlings, "said Ding Jianfei, Deputy Manager of Fujian Sinotrans Shipping Agency Co., Ltd.

Next, Pingtan Customs will conscientiously implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, adhere to coordinated development and safety, fully leverage the advantages of the designated supervision site qualification integration in Jinjing Port Area, actively strengthen supervision and optimize services, continuously improve the port's business environment, assist in the rapid clearance of more high-quality sources, and timely supply of agricultural materials.
