Yantai Port welcomes the first batch of imported fruits

On December 3rd, Yantai Port welcomed the first batch of imported fruits.

On that day, at the designated supervision site for imported fruits at Quanzhiyuan in Yantai Port, Yantai Customs officers under Qingdao Customs conducted inspection procedures for a batch of fresh grapes imported from South Korea. This is the first batch of imported goods since the approval of the designated supervision site for imported fruits in Yantai, marking the official opening of the Yantai fruit import trade channel.

The designated supervision site for imported fruits at Quanzhiyuan Port in Yantai has a total capacity of 800 tons and a daily throughput of 100 tons. The storage temperature can be adjusted according to the storage needs of imported fruits. In addition, the geographical advantage of being adjacent to the central area of Yantai and less than 1 kilometer away from the international container terminal can provide hardware support for the preservation and customs clearance of imported fruits.

In response to the characteristics of strong customs clearance time and high quality requirements for imported fruits, we have opened up a 'green inspection channel' for imported fresh and perishable agricultural products on the basis of strict on-site quarantine requirements. We have used customs clearance facilitation measures such as' advance declaration 'to effectively reduce the stay time of imported fruits at the port. "Lv Wencheng, the head of the inspection department of Yantai Customs stationed at the port, introduced that this batch of imported fruits only takes 3 hours from arrival to departure. Through the' conditional departure 'mode, after on-site inspection shows no abnormalities, the enterprise can leave and enter the market after the laboratory test results are issued.

The official operation of the first designated regulatory site for imported fruits has changed the history of Yantai's inability to directly import fruits. Previously, imported fruits in Yantai needed to be transshipped through ports outside the city, which not only caused delays on the way, but also easily led to a loss of freshness, taste, and quality during logistics turnover. Gao Xinglong, the business manager of Yantai Quanzhiyuan Cross border E-commerce Co., Ltd., said that the official use of the regulatory site, coupled with efficient customs clearance procedures, greatly reduced transit losses and logistics costs, while simultaneously improving the freshness and cost-effectiveness of imported fruits, allowing citizens in Yantai and surrounding areas to enjoy fresh and direct imported fruits at their doorstep.

Lv Wencheng stated that in the next step, Yantai Customs will continue to rely on the advantages of hardware conditions in regulatory venues, accurately connect with domestic and international market demands, continuously optimize customs clearance facilitation measures, promote the import of more high-quality agricultural products, enrich the "fruit basket" of citizens, and meet the growing diversified, personalized, and high-quality consumption needs of the people.
