The first duty-free shop in Tianjin has opened for business

On November 28th, the first duty-free shop in Tianjin officially opened in Renheng Isetan, Nankai District. As one of the first 8 newly established duty-free shops in the country, it will provide high-quality duty-free shopping experience for outbound tourists in Tianjin and fully promote the construction of Tianjin as an international consumption center city.

The duty-free shops in Tianjin cover an area of 578 square meters, and the duty-free goods mainly include duty-free watches, jewelry, sunglasses, perfume and cosmetics, drinks, electronic travel goods and other 33 brands, 1600 sub categories, totaling more than 4300 items. The layout of duty-free shops in the city is flexible, with ample shopping time, which helps enrich the consumption experience of tourists.

Imported goods from duty-free shops within the city are exempt from customs duties, import value-added tax, and consumption tax. Domestic goods sold in duty-free shops are considered exports and are eligible for VAT and consumption tax refunds (exemptions). Passengers who purchase duty-free goods do not have a shopping limit. After shopping, they can pick up the purchased duty-free goods at the pickup point in the international departure hall of Terminal 1 of Tianjin Binhai Airport with their shopping vouchers and valid entry and exit documents and bring them out of the country. ”Luo Weiyuan, Deputy Director of the Port Supervision Department of Tianjin Customs, introduced, "The opening of this duty-free shop in the city is the third duty-free shop newly built in Tianjin with the assistance of Tianjin Customs since the beginning of this year. It realizes the coordinated layout of port duty-free shops in airports and seaports and duty-free shops in the city, helps the development of cruise economy, meets the diversified needs of domestic and foreign tourists, and fully enhances the construction of Tianjin's international consumption city capacity and attractiveness to international tourists

To support the construction of the first duty-free shop in Tianjin, Tianjin Customs has established a special working group to tailor a "one shop, one policy" regulatory plan, strengthen functional guidance and coordination, arrange business experts to connect with enterprises, provide training on duty-free shop sales and management policies, and answer questions and clarify doubts. Multiple on-site investigations have been conducted to guide enterprises in arranging site layouts reasonably. Assist enterprises in sorting out the entire process path and management points of duty-free goods allocation, import, sales, returns, etc., and help enterprises complete the entire process of construction.
