The United States has made its first double reverse sunset review final ruling on staples
On November 18, 2025, the US Department of Commerce issued a notice stating that it had made its first anti-dumping and countervailing fast sunset review final ruling on bound steel staples imported from China: if the current anti-dumping measures were to be lifted, it would result in China's implicated products continuing or recurring with a dumping rate of 122.55%; If the anti subsidy measures in this case are cancelled, it will result in subsidies for the products involved in China continuing or recurring at a tax rate of 63.24% -192.64%.
On June 27, 2019, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced that it would initiate anti-dumping and countervailing investigations against staples imported from China, and also initiate anti-dumping investigations against staples imported from South Korea and Taiwan, China. On May 26, 2020, the US Department of Commerce announced a final positive anti-dumping and anti subsidy ruling on staples imported from China. On June 2, 2025, the US Department of Commerce launched the first anti-dumping and countervailing sunset review investigation into staples imported from China.
