The first "Cherry Charter" flight from South America to Ningbo in 10 hours has arrived this year
On the morning of November 19th, a "Miami Ningbo" fruit cargo charter plane carrying 47 tons of Chilean cherries crossed the ocean and flew for 10 hours before successfully arriving at Ningbo Lishe International Airport. This is the first batch of Chilean cherries to enter the Ningbo region by charter flight this season.
The route plans to operate 10 flights, each with a planned capacity of about 80 tons. All cherries will be assembled in Santiago, Chile, and then efficiently transferred through Miami, USA before flying directly to Ningbo, connecting the two major markets of South America and East Asia. This batch of debut products has excellent quality, not only covering representative Chilean specialty varieties such as Rainier, Santina, Bing, etc., but also achieving full range coverage in fruit diameter specifications from 2J to 5J, providing consumers with more diverse choices. This initially formed continuous and coherent air fresh food supply chain will further assist Ningbo in building an international fresh food hub port.
We have built a full process guarantee system around the 'Cherry Special Line', "said the person in charge of the Ningbo business of China Eastern Airlines Logistics." From cabin booking, cold chain temperature control to ground connection, detailed plans have been formulated for each link, striving to achieve maximum transportation efficiency in limited flights. "He said that charter flights not only significantly reduce logistics time, but also significantly reduce cargo loss, providing strong support for citizens' fresh dining tables and merchants' pre holiday stocking.
Faced with the strict requirements for timeliness and operation of fresh goods, Ningbo Airport Xiangying Cargo Station has deployed support resources in advance, continuously improved ground support processes, strengthened node connections, and achieved rapid turnover of goods. The airport customs also simultaneously launched a green channel for fresh goods, fully implementing a convenient customs clearance mode of "early declaration, immediate inspection upon arrival, and rapid release".
During the inspection process, customs officers at Ningbo Airport conducted an "embedded" inspection of the goods in a low temperature environment of 1 ℃ -3 ℃, using a triple check of "appearance inspection+brown sugar water test+laboratory testing" to ensure that each batch of cherries meets China's quarantine requirements.
The relevant person in charge stated that the operation of the "Miami Ningbo" Chery charter flight route has effectively driven the balanced development of two-way cargo flow on the route and significantly improved the overall operational efficiency. In the future, Ningbo Airport will continue to make efforts to build a "fresh link" for high-quality goods and consumer markets in both the northern and southern hemispheres, injecting new vitality into deepening bilateral economic and trade relations.
