Peru terminates temporary anti-dumping duties on Chinese trading products
On November 9, 2025, the Peruvian National Agency for Competition and Intellectual Property Protection's Committee on Dumping, Subsidies, and the Elimination of Non Tariff Trade Barriers issued Announcement No. 199-2025/CDBINDECOPI in the official daily newspaper El Peruano, announcing the termination of temporary anti-dumping duties on Chinese made bars (Spanish: alambr ó n de acero sin alear, de bajo y alto carbono, de secci ó n circular y superfacie lisa, y con un di á metro que var í a entre 5.5 mm y 16 mm) starting from November 10, 2025.
On January 23, 2025, Peru initiated an anti-dumping investigation into wire rods originating from China. The dumping investigation period of the case is from July 2023 to June 2024, and the injury investigation period is from July 2021 to June 2024. On July 8, 2025, Peru made a preliminary positive ruling on the case (see Announcement No. 092-2025/CDBINDECOPI), imposing a temporary anti-dumping duty of $64.6 per ton on the products involved. The measure will take effect from July 9, 2025 and be valid for four months. The products involved are low-carbon and high carbon non alloy wire rods with diameters ranging from 5.5 to 16 millimeters and smooth surfaces and cross-sections. They are related to products under Peruvian tax codes 7213.20.00.00, 7213.91.10.00, 7213.91.90.00, and 7213.99.00.00.
