The spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce answered questions from reporters regarding the statement by the European side on the issue of Anshi Semiconductor

Q: Recently, the European Commission's Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, Shevchenko, released a statement on his personal social media account regarding the issue of Ansea Semiconductor. What is the comment of the Ministry of Commerce on this?

Answer: The source and responsibility for the current global semiconductor supply chain chaos lies with the Netherlands. The Chinese side has noticed that the European side has expressed its willingness to work with the Netherlands and hopes that the European side will further increase its efforts to urge the Dutch side to revoke relevant measures as soon as possible to ensure the normal supply of Anshi Semiconductor related products. In line with its responsible attitude towards the security and stability of the global semiconductor supply chain, China has taken practical measures to exempt compliant exports for civilian use. I would like to emphasize that we welcome the European side to continue exerting its influence and urge the Dutch side to correct their erroneous practices as soon as possible.
