On November 1st, a batch of live yellow catfish, black croaker, grass carp, and crucian carp weighing 182 kilograms departed from Mengzhe Town, Menghai County, Xishuangbanna Prefecture under customs supervision and were transported to Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This is the first export of Yunnan freshwater fish to the United Arab Emirates.
Mengzhe Town is located in the southwestern border of China, with a subtropical monsoon climate, vast plains, abundant water and grass, and is known as the "land of fish and rice" in southern Yunnan. The superior geographical and natural conditions enable the Mengzhe water area to have sufficient dissolved oxygen and clear water quality, creating unique conditions for freshwater fish farming.

After learning that Middle Eastern countries have market potential, we first exported 4 types of fish to Dubai to explore the market. With a smooth customs clearance process, it only takes about 12 hours to transport them from our farm to Kunming and then fly to Dubai. ”Xu Jinguang, the person in charge of Xishuangbanna Xuxiansheng Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., said.
