The trade volume between China and Africa in the pilot zone for in-depth economic and trade cooperation has exceeded 100 billion yuan
On November 12, under the supervision of Yongzhou customs under Changsha Customs, 25 tons of Macadamia fruit produced in Kenya arrived at the Yongzhou factory of Hunan hualahuala Food Technology Co., Ltd. According to the person in charge of the company, the Hawaiian fruit produced in Kenya has full flesh and delicate taste. After being processed into snacks of various flavors, it is very popular with domestic consumers. This year, the company has imported more than 300 tons of African nuts.
Relying on platforms such as the pilot zone for in-depth economic and trade cooperation between China and Africa, Hunan's trade with Africa has maintained a good momentum. According to statistics, since the approval of the overall plan for the construction of the pilot zone for China Africa deep economic and trade cooperation in Hunan Province in January 2024, by October 2025, Hunan's imports and exports to Africa had exceeded 100 billion yuan, reaching 103.64 billion yuan, including 53.34 billion yuan for exports and 50.3 billion yuan for imports.
In the first 10 months of this year, Hunan's exports of construction machinery, agricultural machinery and other products to Africa grew rapidly, serving the construction and development of transportation, communications, water conservancy and agriculture in Africa. In the first 10 months, Hunan Province exported 13.44 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products to Africa, an increase of 14.6%, accounting for 58.8% of the total export value of Hunan Province to Africa in the same period.
Changsha Customs is actively exploring new modes and paths of trade with Africa. This year, the customs' first nationwide initiative, "the pre assessment system for the access of African food exported to China", was filed by the General Administration of customs and implemented in the Hunan pilot Free Trade Zone, significantly improving the efficiency of the assessment of the access of African agricultural food products to China and further unblocking the "green channel" for the export of African agricultural food products to China.
