At 0:00 on November 15, the lights at Zhuhai Highway port of Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge were bright, and a private car with Guangdong C license plate drove smoothly into the exit lane, marking the official implementation of the highly anticipated "Guangdong car going south" policy, and the further interconnection of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in the Greater Bay area.

The first person to enjoy the policy dividend is Mr. Zhou from Zhuhai. This time, he drove his friend to Hong Kong International Airport and took a flight to Thailand. In 2023, the policies of "Macao cars going north" and "Hong Kong cars going north" were successively implemented, and the "Hong Kong and Macao single brand cars going north" gradually became the daily life of residents in the bay area. Over the past two years, Gongbei Customs has supervised more than 7.686 million "northbound" Hong Kong and Macao single license vehicles. Now, "Guangdong cars going south" adds another important stroke to this picture of two-way traffic, and the "one hour life circle" in Dawan district is accelerating to become a reality.

In order to ensure the smooth implementation of the policy, Gongbei Customs set up a special working group to deeply participate in policy research, scientifically formulate the supervision mode, optimize the handling process together with the relevant departments of the governments of Guangdong and Hong Kong, and carry out several vehicle filing and customs clearance drills. "We set up five special inspection and release channels in the direction of entry and exit.
