Minister Wang Wentao Meets with Spanish Minister of Economy, Trade and Enterprise Querbo
On November 11th, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao met with Spanish Minister of Economy, Trade and Enterprise Querbo. Both sides exchanged views on economic and trade relations between China and the West, as well as between China and Europe.
Wang Wentao stated that in recent years, there have been close high-level exchanges between China and the West. Under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, the economic and trade relations between China and the West have maintained healthy and stable development, and the connotation of cooperation has been continuously enriched. Welcome European companies, including Spanish ones, to increase cooperation with China and share the opportunities of the Chinese market.
Wang Wentao emphasized that the Dutch government's improper intervention in the internal affairs of Anshi Semiconductor through administrative orders seriously violates the spirit of the contract and market principles, and should bear the main responsibility for the current chaos in the global semiconductor supply chain. China has done a lot of work to promote the resolution of this case and actively responded to the urgent demands of the industry by granting license exemptions to eligible exports. China will continue to maintain communication with the Netherlands in a rational, professional, and responsible manner. We hope that the Dutch side will turn their verbal statements into practical actions with a responsible attitude, revoke relevant measures as soon as possible, correct erroneous practices, and restore stability to the global semiconductor supply chain.
Quilpa stated that the Spanish government attaches great importance to the economic and trade relations between Spain and China, and is willing to further strengthen dialogue and exchanges with China, and expand practical cooperation in areas such as trade and investment between the two countries. Spanish companies, especially pork companies, are optimistic about the prospects of the Chinese market and welcome the Chinese government to introduce more measures to expand opening up. The West is willing to communicate with the Dutch side on the issue of Ansei Semiconductor, and the stable and smooth global semiconductor supply chain is in the interests of all parties.
