Ejina Banner's reticulated honeydew melon makes its debut in Vietnam
Recently, two cold chain transport vehicles loaded with 47.5 tons of reticulated honeydew melons departed from Ejina Banner and will exit through Pingxiang Port to Vietnam. This is the first batch of reticulated honeydew melons from Ejina Banner that have completed local inspections and are planned to be exported to Vietnam.
Ejina Banner has sufficient sunlight and a large temperature difference between day and night. The quality of the reticulated honeydew melon is outstanding and it is a local specialty foreign trade product. However, due to the lack of fruit export qualifications, high-quality honeydew melons can only be sold at low prices. After being processed and branded in other places, they are exported, resulting in a short industrial chain and a large outflow of added value, which limits farmers' income growth.
To solve the bottleneck of "having orchards but no packaging factories", Ejina Customs, a subsidiary of Hohhot Customs, has established a special service team to provide full process guidance around standardized planning of factory areas, scientific layout of functional areas, construction of health quality management systems, and export quarantine standards, helping enterprises to benchmark and improve one by one. At the same time, relying on the "Customs Government Service Integration Platform" to simplify the approval process and quickly accept filing applications. In July of this year, Jinxinnong's outbound fruit packaging factory was registered with customs, becoming the first and currently the only outbound fruit packaging factory in Alxa League. At this point, Alxa League has achieved complete "dual qualifications" for orchards and packaging factories for the first time, and fully connected the export channel of the entire industry chain of reticulated honeydew from the fields to overseas.
Previously, melons couldn't be sold at a high price, but now everything from the fields to packing is right at our doorstep. This year, we will stabilize our path and bring more melon farmers to work together next year, "said Wang Liang, the head of Jinxinnong's outbound fruit packaging factory.
During the peak season of honeydew export, Ejina Customs optimized the customs clearance process, following up on the entire process from picking, packaging and processing to local inspection and issuance of certificates of origin, ensuring zero delay in customs clearance for fresh fruits.
At present, Ejina Customs has launched a survey of the export potential of high-quality agricultural products in its jurisdiction, and continues to provide "one-on-one" export assistance to enterprises with a foundation and willingness. Next, the customs will continue to optimize customs clearance services, expand the coverage of export filing, and promote more Alxa characteristic agricultural products to go abroad and enter the world.
