In the first seven months, Fujian's imports from ASEAN surged by 17.7%, reaching a new five-year high in growth rate
ASEAN has maintained its position as the largest trading partner of Fujian Province for several consecutive years. With the continuous release of RCEP dividends and the continuous improvement of connectivity, the economic and trade cooperation between Fujian Province and ASEAN is becoming increasingly close, and the complementary advantages of the two sides' industrial and supply chains continue to be released. According to Xiamen Customs statistics, in the first seven months of this year, Fujian Province's imports and exports to ASEAN reached 229.09 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.1%. Among them, exports amounted to 134.53 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.7%; Imports amounted to 94.56 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17.7%, and the import growth rate reached a new high in nearly five years.
Data shows that in the first seven months, Indonesia was the largest trading partner of Fujian Province to ASEAN, with Fujian Province importing and exporting 74.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.9%, accounting for 32.7% of Fujian Province's total import and export value to ASEAN during the same period. During the same period, imports and exports to Vietnam and the Philippines amounted to 46.93 billion yuan and 32.94 billion yuan, respectively, with year-on-year growth of 12.6% and 5.6%, respectively. The combined total of the three accounts for nearly 70% of Fujian Province's total import and export value to ASEAN during the same period.
According to officials from Xiamen Customs, private enterprises continue to unleash the vitality of foreign trade. In the first seven months, private enterprises in Fujian Province imported and exported 153.06 billion yuan to ASEAN, a year-on-year increase of 14.6%, accounting for 66.8% of the total import and export value of Fujian Province to ASEAN during the same period. Among them, exports amounted to 98.39 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.2%; Imports amounted to 54.67 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 39.9%. During the same period, foreign-invested enterprises imported and exported 37.92 billion yuan to ASEAN, a year-on-year increase of 7.5%.
Accelerate the expansion of the ASEAN market with distinctive and advantageous products. In the first seven months, Fujian Province exported 51.49 billion yuan of electromechanical products to ASEAN, a year-on-year increase of 3.8%, accounting for 38.3% of the total export value of Fujian Province to ASEAN during the same period; Among them, the export of computer and communication technology was 5.95 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 28.9%. During the same period, the export of plastic products reached 5.86 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8%.
In terms of imports, Fujian Province imported agricultural products, coal and lignite, and mechanical and electrical products from ASEAN worth 13.48 billion yuan, 12.77 billion yuan, and 12.45 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 16.7%, 15%, and 71.6% year-on-year. ASEAN high-quality goods continue to meet Fujian's production and living needs, and the advantages of bilateral industrial and supply chain complementarity are further consolidated.
