In the first 8 months, Fujian Province's imports from other APEC economies surged by 14.1%

According to Xiamen Customs statistics, in the first eight months of this year, Fujian Province's imports and exports to other APEC economies amounted to 796.48 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%. Among them, imports amounted to 349.85 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.1%.

According to officials from Xiamen Customs, private enterprises continue to maintain their position as the "main force". In the first 8 months, private enterprises in Fujian Province imported and exported 499.37 billion yuan to other APEC economies, a year-on-year increase of 8.8%, accounting for 60% of the province's total import and export value to other APEC economies during the same period. During the same period, the import and export of foreign-invested enterprises reached 187.47 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.9%, accounting for 23.5%.

The United States, Indonesia, and Australia are the main trading partners of Fujian Province for imports and exports to other APEC economies. In the first eight months, imports and exports were 148.02 billion yuan, 84.58 billion yuan, and 64.08 billion yuan, respectively, accounting for 37.2% of the province's total imports and exports to other APEC economies during the same period. The import and export performance of Russia, South Korea, and Vietnam is impressive, with imports and exports of 52.31 billion yuan, 41.09 billion yuan, and 53.85 billion yuan respectively in the first eight months, an increase of 81.3%, 29.2%, and 11.8% year-on-year.

The imported goods are mainly mechanical and electrical products, metal ores and mineral sands, and agricultural products. In the first 8 months, Fujian Province imported 73.97 billion yuan worth of mechanical and electrical products, 69.2 billion yuan worth of metal ore and mineral sand, and 41.44 billion yuan worth of agricultural products from other APEC economies, accounting for 52.8% of the province's total imports from other APEC economies during the same period. During the same period, imported plastic products, natural and synthetic rubber, beauty cosmetics, and toiletries amounted to 5.52 billion yuan, 2.69 billion yuan, and 1.49 billion yuan, respectively, with year-on-year growth of 14.2%, 9.2%, and 60.5%, respectively.

In terms of exports, mechanical and electrical products are the main export commodities. In the first 8 months, Fujian Province exported mechanical and electrical products worth 195.14 billion yuan to other APEC economies, accounting for 43.7% of the province's total export value to other APEC economies during the same period; Among them, exports of computer and communication technology equipment, automatic data processing equipment and their components amounted to 31.3 billion yuan and 17.94 billion yuan, respectively, with year-on-year growth of 23.7% and 14.4%. During the same period, exports of plastic products, furniture, and their parts amounted to 17.08 billion yuan and 14.47 billion yuan, respectively, with year-on-year growth of 10.8% and 9.2%, respectively.
