In the golden autumn of October, Mengzi in southern Yunnan has abundant fruits and branches, and the ten thousand acre pomegranate garden welcomes the harvest season. The characteristic varieties such as "Sweet Green Seed" and "Sweet Radiant Beauty" have matured one after another. Pomegranates with plump seeds and bright red colors have just fallen from the branches and will set off for overseas markets.

In the first nine months of this year, Kunming Customs' Mengzi Customs supervised the export of over 65000 tons of pomegranate, with a value of over 200 million yuan, mainly exported to 14 countries and regions including Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan, Canada, Malaysia, etc.

Fresh fruits have a short shelf life, high risk of export transportation losses, and higher requirements for customs clearance time. The traditional "two person point-to-point, single site" inspection method has low efficiency. In order to continuously promote trade facilitation and help enterprises reduce costs and increase efficiency, the customs has launched the "1+N" mode of local inspection. This mode centers around a homework backend and teams up with N on-site customs officers through audio and video interaction to carry out local inspection operations.

The '1+N' mode of territorial inspection is a reform measure to promote the construction of smart customs, optimize the business environment at ports, and facilitate cross-border trade. Through the homework platform, real-time connection between backend experts and on-site customs staff is achieved to collaborate in completing tasks such as product name verification and label inspection. We completed a local inspection of a batch of 12.5 tons of exported fresh pomegranates in less than one day. ”Yin Meijiang, Deputy Director of the Supervision Department of Mengzi Customs under Kunming Customs, said. Recently, the first batch of exported fresh pomegranates using the "1+N" mode of local inspection were successfully released, marking the official implementation of this mode in Yunnan and pressing the "acceleration button" for the concentrated export period of pomegranates in autumn.

The new model has improved customs clearance efficiency, further reduced fruit loss and storage costs, and made our order delivery more stable and exports more confident, "said Tong Feng, head of the Nanjiang Fruit Production and Marketing Professional Cooperative in Mengzi City.
