New Product Launch: Rongcheng's Catfish Strips Made from Skipjack Catfish Go to Sea for the First Time

Recently, after passing the inspection and quarantine by Rongcheng Customs under Qingdao Customs, a batch of 4.36 tons of cat mackerel strips produced by Shandong Lanrun Pet Food Co., Ltd. were exported to overseas markets in cold chain containers. This is the first time that Rongcheng's mackerel made cat strips have gone abroad, which not only marks a new breakthrough in the export category of local pet food, but also reflects the accelerating transformation of Rongcheng's marine economy towards high added value and refinement.

Skipjack tuna is a migratory fish species that travels far into the ocean. After being caught in the ocean, it is transported into Rongcheng through a cold chain and undergoes deep processing such as segmentation, steaming, seasoning, sterilization, and packaging by local enterprises before being exported overseas. Relying on ports, cold chain, and processing capabilities, Rongcheng Enterprise is accelerating the formation of a "buy global, sell global" supply chain pattern.

The cat mackerel strips exported this time are mainly made from deep-sea mackerel, which is rich in high-quality protein and has strong palatability, meeting the target market's demand for high-quality and nutritious pet food, "said Zhang Xiujuan, the person in charge of the company

In response to the high export standards and significant differences in categories of pet food, Rongcheng Customs has established a "cloud platform" to interpret changes in foreign regulations, provide guidance to enterprises in improving their quality control systems, and promote their acquisition of international quality management system certifications. At the same time, the customs have implemented convenient measures such as early declaration, immediate inspection, and "cloud issuance" of certificates to ensure fast clearance of products, reducing clearance time by about 15% and ensuring that "ocean flavors" are put on the shelves of the international market as quickly as possible.

In recent years, Rongcheng Enterprise has relied on the development of deep-sea fish processing industry, continuously extending the industrial chain, and turning the deep-sea fish meat that was originally used as processing waste into treasure, deeply processing it into high value-added products such as pet wet food and snacks. According to statistics, in the first eight months of this year, enterprises in Rongcheng district exported 1349 tons of pet food, a year-on-year increase of 70%. (Lai Chenglu/Text)
