In the first seven months, Fujian's imports and exports to other BRICS member countries surged by 20.5%
With the continuous deepening and expansion of the cooperation mechanism among BRICS countries, the economic and trade cooperation between Fujian Province and other BRICS member countries continues to deepen and solidify. According to Xiamen Customs statistics, in the first seven months of this year, the import and export volume between Fujian Province and other BRICS member countries reached 242.53 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.5%, and the trade value reached a new historical high for the same period. Among them, exports amounted to 85.04 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.8%; Imports amounted to 157.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25%.
Private enterprises shoulder the banner of growth. In the first seven months, private enterprises in Fujian Province imported and exported 150.44 billion yuan to other BRICS member countries, a year-on-year increase of 39%, accounting for 62% of the total import and export value of Fujian Province to other BRICS member countries during the same period, becoming a backbone force in exploring the BRICS market. The import and export of foreign-funded enterprises reached 41.42 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.9%.
Xiamen customs officials stated that in the first seven months, the total import and export value of Fujian Province to Indonesia, Russia, and Brazil, the top three trading partners of other BRICS member countries, was 74.8 billion yuan, 45.82 billion yuan, and 44.06 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 11.9%, 84.3%, and 35.2% year-on-year, accounting for 30.8%, 18.9%, and 18.2% of Fujian Province's total import and export value to other BRICS member countries during the same period.
In terms of imports, we mainly focus on energy, minerals, and agricultural products, effectively ensuring the supply of raw materials for the domestic industrial chain. In the first seven months, Fujian Province imported energy products worth 60 billion yuan from other BRICS member countries, a year-on-year increase of 27.1%, accounting for 38.1% of the total import value of Fujian Province to other BRICS member countries during the same period. During the same period, imported metal ore and mineral sand amounted to 23.02 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25.4%, accounting for 14.6%; Imported agricultural products amounted to 21.06 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 59.2%, accounting for 13.4%.
In terms of exports, mechanical and electrical products remain at the forefront, while electrical equipment has seen significant growth. In the first seven months, Fujian Province exported 39.23 billion yuan of electromechanical products to other BRICS member countries, a year-on-year increase of 18.6%, accounting for 46.1% of the total export value of Fujian Province to other BRICS member countries during the same period; Among them, the export of electrical equipment was 7.74 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.1 times.
