As the core area of the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road", Fujian has continued to deepen economic and trade cooperation with countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road", and the trade scale has steadily expanded. According to the statistics of Xiamen Customs, in the first seven months of this year, Fujian's import and export to countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road" reached 626.22 billion yuan, up 10% year on year, a record high in the same period. Among them, exports amounted to 326.68 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%; Imports amounted to 299.54 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.3%, and the import scale simultaneously broke the record for the same period.
According to officials from Xiamen Customs, private enterprises are the largest trading entities. In the first seven months, the import and export of private enterprises in Fujian Province to countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road" was 399.93 billion yuan, up 18.8% year on year, accounting for 63.9% of the total import and export value of the province to countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road" in the same period, driving the growth rate by 11 percentage points. Foreign invested enterprises imported and exported 108.54 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4%, accounting for 17.3%.
From the perspective of trading partners, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Russia rank among the top three. In the first seven months, the import and export values of Fujian Province to the three countries mentioned above were 74.8 billion yuan, 46.93 billion yuan, and 45.82 billion yuan, respectively, an increase of 11.9%, 12.6%, and 84.3% year-on-year. During the same period, Fujian Province's imports and exports with Malta, Liberia, and Angola were 2.38 billion yuan, 3.71 billion yuan, and 2.06 billion yuan, respectively, an increase of 2.5 times, 1.1 times, and 1.1 times year-on-year, with impressive growth rates.
In terms of exports, mechanical and electrical products are the main category. In the first seven months, Fujian Province exported 147.29 billion yuan of electromechanical products to countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road", up 16.3% year on year, accounting for 45.1% of the province's total export value to countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road" in the same period. Among them, the export of "new three types" products reached 19.72 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 62.5%.
In terms of imports, metal ores and mineral sands have shown outstanding performance. In the first seven months, Fujian Province imported 70.4 billion yuan of metal ores and ores from the countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road", up 15.6% year on year, accounting for 23.5% of the total import value of the province to the countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road" in the same period; During the same period, imported agricultural products amounted to 43.94 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.3%, effectively enriching the supply of the domestic consumer market.
