The latest foreign trade data shows that Ningbo's foreign trade has achieved a trillion level breakthrough one month ahead of last year. Yesterday, according to statistics from Ningbo Customs, the total import and export volume of Ningbo reached 1.04 trillion yuan in the first eight months of this year, an increase of 7% compared to the same period last year. Among them, the export value was 714.62 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.5%; The import value was 322.28 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.8%.
Specifically, private enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises are advancing together, providing solid support for the growth of foreign trade in the city.
In the first 8 months, the import and export volume of private enterprises in Ningbo was 812.35 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.1%, maintaining growth for 5 consecutive months, driving the total import and export volume of our city to increase by 6.3 percentage points during the same period, accounting for 78.3%, of which the export volume increased by 10.2% year-on-year. During the same period, the import and export volume of foreign-invested enterprises was 166.13 billion yuan, an increase of 5.5%, accounting for 16%.
The "friend circle" of Ningbo's foreign trade has expanded, and the export volume to major trading partners has maintained an upward trend, while the diversified market layout continues to deepen.
In the first 8 months, Ningbo's exports to the three major markets of the European Union, the United States, and ASEAN increased by 4.1%, 3.7%, and 22% year-on-year, respectively, collectively boosting the overall export growth rate by 4.2 percentage points. During the same period, exports to Latin America, Africa, and Australia increased by 9.8%, 20.1%, and 24.9% respectively year-on-year, while exports to other member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization increased by a total of 19.2% year-on-year.
From the perspective of export products, mechanical and electrical products have solidified the foundation of foreign trade, and exports are accelerating towards novelty, intelligence, and greenness. In the first eight months of this year, Ningbo exported mechanical and electrical products worth 413.09 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.8%, accounting for 57.8% of Ningbo's total exports during the same period.
Among them, the "New Three Types" products, as an important engine driving export growth, exported a total of 47.28 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 114.8%. The export value of electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries, and photovoltaic products under them increased by 190%, 43.9%, and 44.8% respectively year-on-year.
Domestic electric motorcycles and bicycles are widely popular, with an export value of 2.15 billion yuan in 8 months, a year-on-year increase of 105.8%.
Along with the growth of exports, the demand for imported industrial raw materials and high-tech products continues to be released.
In the first 8 months, Ningbo imported 37.64 billion yuan worth of metal ore and mineral sand, a year-on-year increase of 11.2%, of which imports of iron ore and its concentrates accounted for 87.3%. During the same period, imported high-tech products amounted to 29.31 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%. Among them, the import value of integrated circuits increased by 7.5% year-on-year, providing strong support for the development of artificial intelligence related fields.
