Wuhu builds green ships heading towards Europe

Recently, under the supervision and protection of Wuhu Customs under Hefei Customs, Wuhu Shipyard Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Wuhu Shipyard") has successfully delivered the 18500 ton chemical tanker "SHAMAL" built for the British shipowner Union Maritime Limited (UML), and is about to set sail.

In recent years, high-end intelligent green ship types have become the main force in ship exports, with a significant increase in exports of green and low-carbon chemical tankers, multi-purpose heavy lift ships, and other vessels. As a first-class modern shipbuilding enterprise with a century long history in China, Wuhu Shipyard is accelerating its transformation towards green, intelligent, and high-end industries. With core technologies such as "asphalt liquid cargo thermal management" and "hybrid solutions" that have completely independent intellectual property rights, it continues to make efforts in small and medium-sized high-end chemical tankers, multi-purpose heavy lift ships, and other sub sectors. The "SHAMAL" vessel delivered this time is one of the 18 ships ordered by UML Company at Wuhu Shipyard. The vessel is designed with methanol dual fuel reserve, equipped with advanced single propeller propulsion system and 1C ice zone enhancement function, and innovatively equipped with two Norsepower rotor sails. It is a benchmark ship leading the green shipping revolution.

This year, we hold various types of ship orders, most of which are high-end ships with high technical difficulty, high quality requirements, and difficult cycle control. Customs efficiently inspects and releases ship materials, helping us meet the construction deadline, catch up with the progress, and ensure delivery. Our performance has been highly recognized by ship owners, "said Cha Yuhong, the customs officer in charge of Wuhu Shipyard." In the first 8 months, we have exported a total of 9 high-end ships, covering various green and intelligent ship types

In response to the long commissioning cycle and high clearance time requirements of high-end shipbuilding, Wuhu Customs innovatively adopts the inspection and supervision mode of "qualified assurance+compliance verification", compressing the inspection time from the original 3 to 5 days to 5 minutes, achieving "minute level clearance". At the same time, we will implement the self inspection result recognition model for the "certified operator" (AEO) enterprises, and give priority to the application of "bonded+ERP", "Internet plus audit" and other smart regulatory paths. In addition, the customs also set up exclusive files for export ships under the "one ship, one file" policy, dynamically tracking the key nodes of the entire process from ship construction, equipment installation to trial voyage and departure, breaking through import and export bottlenecks, and fully ensuring that shipbuilding enterprises maintain orders and expand their markets.

According to statistics, in the first eight months of this year, the export value of ships in Wuhu City was 2.46 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 72.3%.

Next, Wuhu Customs will continue to focus on the green transformation needs of the shipbuilding industry, deeply optimize measures to benefit enterprises, and continue to strengthen regulatory innovation and credit cultivation, helping more high-end green ships set sail.
