Huaihua International Land Port Pinglu Canal Iron and Steel Intermodal Train Shipment

On September 8th, under the supervision of Huaihua Customs under Changsha Customs, a multimodal freight train carrying more than 370 tons of construction machinery and luggage products departed from Huaihua International Land Port Multimodal Transport Center in Hunan. The train arrived at Guigang, Guangxi on September 10th and will be exported after the Pinglu Canal is officially opened on September 16th. This special train shipment marks a new breakthrough in the multimodal transportation of "railway+canal+port" at Huaihua International Land Port.

As an important project on the eastern route of the Western Land Sea New Corridor, the Pinglu Canal has a total length of 134.2 kilometers, providing more convenient options for goods from the central and western hinterland to go abroad after navigation.

Huaihua is an important node city for Hunan to connect with the western land sea new channel. With the linkage of "railway+canal+seaport", goods from Huaihua and surrounding areas can be transported directly by railway to the inland rivers of Guangxi, and then connected to the Beibu Gulf through the Pinglu Canal, forming a new sea route with shorter transportation distance, lower cost, and higher efficiency.

In order to ensure the shipment of trains, Huaihua Customs has introduced facilitation measures such as "early declaration". In response to the characteristics of multiple transportation links and high connection requirements of trains crossing customs areas, it strengthens point-to-point cooperation with customs along the Western Land Sea New Corridor, communicates in advance about train grouping, freight lists, arrival time and other information, collaborates to do a good job in customs clearance verification, inspection and release, and ensures efficient customs clearance of first-time shipped goods.
