Rule of Law Network: Single ship refueling volume reaches a new high! Ningbo Zhoushan Port completes the largest green methanol injection in Zhejiang Province

On the morning of August 23rd, in Meishan Port Area of Zhoushan Port, Ningbo, the large methanol dual fuel container ship "COSCO Shipping Libra" successfully completed the refueling operation of about 5500 tons of green methanol fuel under the supervision of Meishan Customs under Ningbo Customs. This refueling has set a new record for the green methanol refueling volume of single ship international navigation vessels in Zhejiang Province, marking the improvement of the large-scale refueling capacity of green methanol in Ningbo Zhoushan Port and adding new momentum to the low-carbon transformation of shipping in Zhejiang Province.
Against the backdrop of global shipping carbon neutrality transformation, clean energy substitution has become an important direction for the upgrading of the shipping industry. Green methanol, with its excellent safety performance, strong adaptability to ships, and outstanding low-carbon benefits, has become one of the high-quality clean energy sources to replace traditional marine fuels. In July of this year, the first newly-built professional methanol refueling ship in China, "Zhongran Green Energy 85", was officially put into operation, becoming the main ship for methanol refueling at Ningbo Zhoushan Port. This operation is carried out by this ship, which strongly supports the green and low-carbon development of the port.

Cao Wenqing, Deputy Director of the Logistics Monitoring Department at Meishan Customs, said, "In order to ensure the smooth completion of this refueling operation, we have intervened in advance, closely focused on the development needs of green port construction, conducted in-depth research on the entire process of green methanol fuel storage and refueling, and coordinated with multiple entities such as Meishan Port, fuel refueling enterprises, and ship agents. With the support of the customs intelligent supervision system, we have achieved paperless declaration and review of ship dynamics, ship fuel supply, and other processes, optimized on-site supervision arrangements, and maximized the efficient and orderly progress of operations
At present, the green shipping supporting service capacity of Ningbo Zhoushan Port continues to upgrade, and the development pattern of low-carbon, efficient, and intelligent green ports is becoming increasingly clear.
