The import of fresh food at Ningbo Airport Port increased by 6.2 times year-on-year in the first seven months

Yesterday, reporters learned from Ningbo Airport Customs that from January to July this year, the cumulative import value of fresh goods at Ningbo Airport Port reached 400 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.2 times.
Relying on efficient and smooth air logistics channels and a high-quality and convenient port business environment, a large number of high-quality overseas fresh products have crossed mountains and seas to enter the Ningbo market, demonstrating the strong resilience and vitality of the airport fresh food import industry, "said the relevant person in charge of Ningbo Customs.
From the perspective of imported categories, various high-quality fresh aquatic products such as crayfish, green crabs, salmon, and eels continue to enter the Yongcheng market, and the import structure continues to be optimized.
Among them, the import volume of crayfish ranks first, with a cumulative import value of 370 million yuan in the first seven months, becoming the main variety of fresh imports at Ningbo Airport Port.
From the perspective of import sources, the territory of fresh food imports continues to expand, covering multiple countries and regions such as Canada, the United States, Norway, and Bangladesh.
The import of fresh food from Canada has steadily increased, with a monthly import value of nearly 60 million yuan in July. The cumulative import value in the first seven months increased by 5.1 times year-on-year, making Canada the largest source of imported fresh food at Ningbo Airport Port.
Fresh products have a short shelf life and high quality requirements, which have strict requirements for customs clearance speed and inspection efficiency at ports. To this end, Ningbo Airport Customs has accurately adapted to the characteristics of fresh product imports, continuously optimized the customs clearance supervision service mode, and made every effort to open up the "fast customs clearance road" for fresh product imports.
Every extra minute of fresh food stays increases the risk of quality loss. The efficient and thoughtful customs clearance guarantee has seized valuable freshness time for our imported fresh food, greatly reducing operational losses, "said Liu Sheng, manager of Jiangsu Suhao Cold Chain Logistics Co., Ltd.
