The "Export to China" Egypt Special Event was held in Cairo

Cairo, August 17 (Xinhua) -- The "Export to China" Egypt special event was held in the Egyptian capital Cairo on the 17th. Chinese and Egyptian companies signed multiple trade agreements at the event, with a total contract value of nearly 170 million US dollars.

Said Fuad, Director of the Asia Department of the Egyptian Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, thanked China for hosting the "Export to China" event in Egypt. He expressed that Egypt is willing to establish longer-term cooperation with China, strengthen economic and trade exchanges, and promote better development of bilateral economic and trade relations.

Mohamed Kassim, Chairman of the Egyptian Exporters Association, hopes that Chinese and Egyptian enterprises can establish a regular exchange mechanism, and stated that Egyptian enterprises need to have a deep understanding of Chinese market demand and sales channels in order to achieve more economic and trade cooperation results.

Chang Hui, a second level inspector of the Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce of China, stated that the "Export China" Egypt special event is the first stop of the "Export China" series of activities to enter African countries. Holding the "Export to China" series of docking activities is a vivid practice for China to expand high-level opening up to the outside world and promote balanced trade development. It is also an innovative measure to share development dividends with various trading partners and firmly uphold the multilateral trading system and free trade.

Zhao Liuqing, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, stated that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt. Currently, the bilateral relationship is at its best in history, and pragmatic economic and trade cooperation has become the cornerstone and booster of the bilateral relationship. Starting from May 1st this year, China has fully implemented zero tariff measures for 53 African countries that have diplomatic relations with China. It is expected that more high-quality products will be exported to the Chinese market in the future, with broad growth potential.

The "Export to China" Egypt event is organized by the Foreign Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Egyptian Exporters Association. About 170 representatives and entrepreneurs from the political and business sectors of both countries attended the event.
