Fresh longan from Gaozhou Jiejie Town is placed on the dining tables of Hong Kong citizens

On the evening of July 30th, a batch of Chuliang longan from Jiejie Town, Gaozhou City, Guangdong Province was successfully transported to Hong Kong via the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge after completing declaration and inspection at Xiangzhou Customs under Gongbei Customs. This is the first export of Chuliang longan from Fenjie Town to Hong Kong, further expanding the sales channels for local specialty agricultural products.

The annual production season of longan in Jiejie Town is only about 40 days, and the export of fresh fruits has become a difficult problem for the development of the industry. Yao Shengqian, a member of the rural revitalization assistance team stationed in Jiejie Town by Gongbei Customs and the first secretary stationed in the village, and his colleagues chose to play to their strengths and avoid weaknesses. They spoke with the quality of longan and assisted in establishing the first registered orchard for longan exports in Jiejie Town. They provided on-site guidance for enterprises to standardize planting, collaborated with local customs to monitor harmful organisms and implement comprehensive prevention and control measures, and focused on promoting the "fresh fruit quality brand", achieving a high-quality fruit rate of over 85%.

Improve quality and expand sales. The work team facilitated the signing of purchase intention letters between high-quality fruit packaging enterprises supplying Hong Kong and Macao in Zhuhai and local orchards, facilitating production and sales cooperation channels. Export customs clearance, "preservation" is the most crucial. Based on the characteristics of fresh fruits, the customs has developed an efficient customs clearance plan, providing "one-on-one" guidance throughout the entire process, implementing measures such as "inspection upon arrival", "fast inspection and release", "priority clearance", etc., to achieve "zero waiting" for port clearance.

Since the beginning of this year, Jiejie Town has exported more than 180 tons of fresh fruit longan varieties such as Chuliang and Shixia overseas. Watching the supply of longan to Hong Kong via the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge, Yao Shengqian sighed and said, "Jiejie Town has integrated the previous' small, weak, and scattered 'family workshop model into a complete industrial chain, allowing longan to enter the Hong Kong market.
