The first new energy commodity vehicle export model of "rolling, gathering, and shipping" has been implemented at Shandong Port
On August 9th, after completing customs supervision and clearance procedures, more than 2000 domestically produced new energy commodity vehicles loaded through 722 containers were successfully loaded onto the "container+roll on/roll off" dual-use ship "Ramhan" and sent to the Middle East region. This is the first new energy commodity vehicle "container+roll on/roll off" ship export business at Shandong Port.
Automobile export is a characteristic advantage business of Yantai Port. As a hub port for commodity vehicle logistics in northern China, Yantai Port has opened global commodity vehicle logistics channels to North America, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and other regions.
Currently, the global commodity vehicle roll on/roll off shipping capacity is insufficient and freight rates are rising, "said Gu Feng, director of the production scheduling center of Yantai Port Automobile Terminal Branch. The roll on/roll off intermodal transportation model deeply integrates the core advantages of roll on/roll off transportation and container transportation, maximizes the utilization of ship deck space, and to some extent alleviates the" overseas anxiety "of domestic car companies. But the new model of "roll on/roll off+container" has brought new challenges to customs logistics supervision.
In the past, container goods and roll on/roll off commercial vehicles operated separately at two ports. Now, how to optimize the combination of container and roll on/roll off operation modes, achieve effective supervision and fast customs clearance, has become a practical problem facing us. "said Sun Chengyuan, the head of the Logistics Monitoring Department of the Yantai Customs Port Office under Qingdao Customs.
To this end, Yantai Customs has selected key business personnel to work together with Yantai International Container Terminal and Yantai Port Automobile Terminal to tackle the problem. They have sorted out the planning of commodity vehicle loading sites, the sending of arrival reports, supervision during transportation, and the release and loading of goods in each process step, and formulated specialized supervision and guarantee plans to ensure the smooth implementation of the new model. In the end, the ship completed all loading operations and sailed smoothly in just 30 hours at the port.
The new "roll, collect and ship" intermodal logistics solution will provide a stable, flexible and cost-effective international channel for domestic cars to go abroad, effectively alleviating the pain points of tight sea freight space and single transportation mode in the industry, and effectively reducing the comprehensive logistics cost of whole vehicle exports.
We strongly support the construction of the Yantai Port commodity vehicle logistics base, and have successively supported the port to explore new logistics models such as sea freight consolidation, cargo delivery, and specialized framework transportation. The implementation of this new model will further enrich the logistics industry of Yantai Port commodity vehicles, and add new momentum to the cooperation between customs and ports to create a fully integrated cross-border logistics complex for foreign trade commodity vehicles. Yu Jianbo, Deputy Director of the Yantai Customs Port Office, said that the customs will further support the construction of a "two-way mutual aid between east and west, linkage between land, sea and overseas" commodity vehicle cross-border logistics channel, smooth the automobile export industry chain and logistics chain, and help domestic automobiles enhance their international competitiveness.
According to statistics, in the first seven months of this year, Yantai Port completed the export of various types of foreign trade commodity vehicles, including local exports, sea rail intermodal transit, and international transshipment, with a total volume of 240200 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 36.05%.
