Xinmin Evening News: 1.851 million vehicles! Shanghai Port Automotive Export Delivery "Mid term Volume"

In the first half of this year, Shanghai Port submitted a highly valuable "mid-term report card": according to Shanghai Customs statistics, a total of 1.851 million cars were exported from January to June, a year-on-year increase of 45.2%; Among them, the export of new energy vehicles has accelerated, reaching 1.135 million units, a year-on-year increase of 79.9%, undoubtedly becoming a strong "green engine" driving foreign trade growth.
As the "leader" in domestic vehicle exports, Shanghai Automotive International Trading Co., Ltd. exported 350000 vehicles in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 50%, and its product matrix has clearly jumped towards high-end and new energy. However, the larger the export volume, the more stringent the test of customs clearance efficiency becomes. We have multiple batches of vehicles and tight shipping schedules, and time is the lifeline of orders, "said Zhu Wei, the head of customs affairs at SAIC International, recalling a scene on New Year's Eve that still left a deep impression: the vehicles only arrived at the port at around 4 pm that day and had to be loaded onto the ship at 10 pm that evening. After learning about it, the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Port Customs took the initiative to work overtime and managed to complete all clearance procedures by 8 pm in the evening.
Faced with the unique rhythm of roll on/roll off exports, foreign customs have come up with a "smart solution": relying on automated three-dimensional warehouses, combining intelligent verification and remote supervision to achieve zero delay customs clearance; At the same time, a dedicated "green channel" for automobile exports is set up, equipped with a "5+2" on duty and a "7 × 24" liaison mechanism, allowing enterprises to find people and accomplish tasks at any time. In the first half of the year, the customs supervised the export of 549000 domestically produced new energy vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 58.5%. Behind the numbers is every race against time.
Recently, 1281 new energy vehicles from brands such as BYD, MG, and Changan quietly completed a "seamless clearance" show at Yangshan Nangang Port - without stopping or queuing in front of the smart checkpoint, they sailed in line onto the "Asian Dynasty" roll on/roll off ship and headed straight to South America. Behind this is the "strategic planning" of Yangshan Customs' digital twin system: using the VIN code of each vehicle as the unique ID card, establishing a full lifecycle digital file, and integrating RFID tags and AI recognition, allowing unlicensed vehicles to be "identified at a glance" and automatically released. By optimizing the site zoning, the flow of storage, inspection, and loading processes has been polished to a smooth and seamless state; And the deep integration of seamless customs clearance and logistics chain makes checkpoint inspection and release more "smart". Nowadays, the average waiting time for roll on/roll off ships at Nangang Port has been reduced by nearly half, and the efficiency improvement is visible to the naked eye.
The facilitation measures taken by the customs have really helped us set a new record, "said Wei Wei, Director of the Port Operations Department of Shanghai Haitong International Automobile Terminal, with emotion. As evidence, in the first half of the year, Nangang Port exported a total of 411300 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 74.7%; Among them, there were 313000 new energy vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 117%, both breaking historical peaks.
