Fujian's automobile sales in Africa saw a 41.8% surge in exports in the first half of the year
On the basis of consolidating traditional overseas markets, Fujian's automobile exports are accelerating the cultivation of emerging market blue oceans, with particularly rapid growth momentum in exports to Africa. According to Xiamen Customs statistics, in the first half of the year, Fujian exported various types of automobiles to Africa worth 2.08 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 41.8%, accounting for 23.9% of Fujian's total automobile export value during the same period. The export value has reached a new historical high for the same period for two consecutive years.
Data shows that Tunisia and Egypt are the main markets for Fujian's automobile exports to Africa. In the first half of the year, Fujian exported cars worth 390 million yuan and 260 million yuan respectively, an increase of 28.5% and 21.3% year-on-year, accounting for 31.2% of the total value of Fujian's automobile exports to Africa during the same period. During the same period, demand in markets such as Morocco, Ghana, and Tanzania accelerated and export growth was impressive. Fujian exported cars worth 220 million yuan, 180 million yuan, and 140 million yuan to these countries respectively, a year-on-year increase of 5 times, 5.7 times, and 4.3 times, accounting for 25.7% of Fujian's total car exports to Africa during the same period.
In the export structure, commercial vehicles and passenger cars constitute the core categories of Fujian's automobile exports to Africa. According to statistics, in the first half of the year, Fujian exported commercial vehicles to Africa worth 1.52 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 51.7%, accounting for 73% of the total value of Fujian's automobile exports to Africa during the same period; The export of passenger cars reached 560 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.3%, accounting for 27%.
According to officials from Xiamen Customs, in the first half of the year, private enterprises in Fujian exported 1.31 billion yuan of automobiles to Africa, a significant increase of 1.4 times year-on-year, accounting for 63.1% of the total value of Fujian's automobile exports during the same period, driving a 52.4 percentage point increase in the province's automobile exports. During the same period, Fujian state-owned enterprises exported 770 million yuan of automobiles to Africa, accounting for 36.9%.
