In the first half of the year, the import and export of foreign trade in our province exceeded 610 billion yuan

On July 17th, it was learned from a press conference held by the Provincial Government Information Office that in the first half of this year, our province achieved a total import and export value of goods trade of 616.96 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 34.3%. Among them, exports amounted to 426.31 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 37.6%; Imports amounted to 190.65 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.5%.

Jiang Kaiyuan, Deputy Director of Hefei Customs, introduced that since the beginning of this year, our province has made every effort to optimize the business environment at ports and improve the level of cross-border trade facilitation. The import and export scale has increased, the momentum has become new, and the structure has been optimized. The good development momentum of foreign trade continues to consolidate.

Data shows that the import and export scale of our province ranks 8th in the country and continues to maintain the first place in the central and western regions. Import and export, export, and import growth rates ranked third, fourth, and ninth in the country, respectively, 17.4, 24.2, and 5.4 percentage points higher than the national average. It is worth noting that in June, the import and export volume reached 116.92 billion yuan, an increase of 39.6%, breaking the record for the highest monthly scale. The province's foreign trade has exceeded 100 billion yuan for four consecutive months.

Along with the expansion of scale, the structure is also continuously optimized. In the first half of this year, the export of high-tech products in our province reached 126.43 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 78.3%, accounting for 29.7% of the province's total export value, which is 1.3 percentage points higher than the same period in China. The total export value of the "New Three Samples" products was 79.37 billion yuan, ranking fifth in the country, with a year-on-year increase of 1.1 times, accounting for 18.6% of the province's total export value. In terms of imports, the import of high-tech products increased by 24.1% in the first half of the year; Imports of bulk commodities such as metal ore and coal also maintained double-digit growth.

The continuous increase in the activity of business entities has become an important support for the stable growth of foreign trade. In the first half of the year, there were 14403 business entities with import and export performance in the province, an increase of 2323 compared to the same period last year. In addition, the market layout is also continuously expanding. Our province has achieved growth in trade with 163 countries and regions worldwide, with 22 countries and regions having import and export volumes exceeding 10 billion yuan, which is 5 more than the same period last year. The continuous cultivation of traditional markets, the expansion of emerging markets, and the diversified market pattern have made the foundation of foreign trade more solid.
