On July 16th, under the supervision of Tianjin Customs, the "Namli" ship loaded with 60000 tons of imported South African manganese ore successfully docked at the Tianjin Port International Ore Terminal and began unloading operations. According to statistics, from January to June this year, Tianjin Port imported 61.679 million tons of mineral products, a year-on-year increase of 9.45%.
Tianjin Port is an important transit hub for mineral products in northern China, with sources covering major global production areas such as Brazil and Guinea. It has established a multi regional, multi mineral, and multi-channel supply system, delivering over 100 million tons of raw materials annually to steel enterprises in Beijing Tianjin Hebei, North China, Northwest China, and other regions, effectively ensuring the supply chain of regional industrial chains.
In the face of the characteristics of large ship types, wide sources, and rich categories of imported mineral products, Tianjin Customs focuses on the goal of "fast inspection and fast pass" work, establishes a dedicated "enterprise small service" delivery policy team, pushes relevant preferential policies for enterprises such as early declaration and conditional departure, guides enterprises to complete online declaration before berthing, and puts the review of ship declaration data and the assessment of infectious disease risks for personnel on board in the anchorage stage. The demand for anchoring large bulk cargo ships for tidal operations, in conjunction with the port joint inspection department, has improved the efficiency of ship inspection, allowing shipping companies to truly experience a "less disturbance, more service" customs clearance experience.
On the basis of optimizing the traditional supervision mode, we actively expand supervision methods such as smart telecommunications quarantine and intelligent inspection assistants, complete crew health checks and ship hygiene inspections online, and use intelligent equipment to assist customs officers in quickly identifying risks such as radioactivity and solid waste, achieving a win-win situation between customs clearance efficiency and operational safety, "said Wang Hongtao, head of the Inspection Department of Tianjin Nanjiang Customs under Tianjin Customs.
