In the first half of this year, Fujian Province's import and export to Brazil increased by over 30%, setting a new historical high for the same period

Since the beginning of this year, China Brazil economic and trade cooperation has brought multiple benefits, coupled with the continuous release of the BRICS mechanism and RCEP policy dividends, providing a broad channel for Fujian Province to expand its economic and trade exchanges with Brazil, and steadily expanding its trade scale. According to statistics from Fuzhou Customs, in the first half of this year, the total import and export value of Fujian Province to Brazil reached 36.37 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 37.5%, and the trade scale set a new historical high for the same period.

Fujian Province's electromechanical and labor-intensive products have become the core engine for expanding into the Brazilian market. In the first half of this year, Fujian Province exported 4.46 billion yuan worth of electromechanical and 2.28 billion yuan worth of labor-intensive products to Brazil, an increase of 36.6% and 40.6% respectively, accounting for 48.3% and 24.7% of the total export value of Fujian Province to Brazil during the same period. The export commodity structure continued to optimize.

The source of goods imported from Brazil is also distinctive, mainly consisting of bulk commodities. In the first half of this year, Fujian Province imported 11.79 billion yuan of iron ore and concentrate from Brazil, an increase of 47.7%, accounting for 43.5% of the total import value of Fujian Province from Brazil during the same period. During the same period, imports of agricultural products and pulp amounted to 8.46 billion and 3.72 billion yuan, respectively, with an increase of 71.2% and 19.7%.

Relying on the unique advantages of "deep-water port+railway golden channel", Putian Port in Fujian has become an important strategic pivot for Brazilian mining giants. After unloading, iron ore from Brazil can be quickly transported to multiple cities in Fujian Province and surrounding provinces such as Jiangxi and Hunan through the railway transportation network. In the first half of this year, private enterprises in Fujian Province imported and exported 21.49 billion yuan to Brazil, an increase of 43.8%, accounting for 59.1% of the total import and export value of Fujian Province to Brazil during the same period, an increase of 2.6 percentage points compared to the same period last year. During the same period, state-owned enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises imported and exported 10.71 billion yuan and 4.17 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 24.5% and 43.1%, respectively.
