The "air side direct access" mode has officially landed at Changchun Longjia Airport Port

On the morning of July 13th, a batch of 28 pieces of fresh matsutake mushrooms with a total weight of 270 kilograms were inspected and released by the Longjia Airport Customs under the jurisdiction of Changchun Customs. They were then directly transferred from the domestic cargo unloading area of Longjia Airport to the international cargo terminal's departure channel via the airside area, taking less than half an hour. Afterwards, the goods were taken out of the sea by China Southern Airlines. This marks the official implementation of the new model of air side direct access in Jilin Province.

The "air side direct access" mode is an important measure taken by Changchun Longjia Airport Customs to support cross-border trade facilitation. Under the traditional logistics model, after the goods arrive at Longjia Airport, they need to first enter the domestic cargo storage area to complete the pickup, undergo secondary security checks, and then be stored and shipped. In the "airside through" mode, goods can be directly transferred from domestic freight stations to international freight stations through dedicated airside channels, with only one handover required throughout the process. At the same time, customs procedures and the replacement of waybill labels can also be completed simultaneously and in parallel.

Xing Jun, Deputy General Manager of Jilin Branch of China Southern Airlines Logistics Co., Ltd., introduced that under the traditional mode, domestic goods need to go through four handovers and two security checks before transferring to international cargo terminals, which takes 2 to 3 hours. However, under the "air side through" mode, the transfer time is compressed to within 30 minutes, saving the enterprise about 30% of ground short haul costs.

To ensure the smooth implementation of the "air side direct access" mode, Changchun Longjia Airport Customs actively provided services, collected enterprise demands, and collaborated with multiple departments such as the airport to establish a four party collaborative mechanism of "Customs+Airlines+Cargo Stations+Enterprises" to achieve real-time synchronization of cargo logistics, document flow, and data flow, ensuring that the entire process is interconnected. Next, Changchun Customs will continue to provide good regulatory services to ensure that "air side direct access" truly achieves "reducing links and improving efficiency".
