Liberation Daily: Import and export growth in the Yangtze River Delta for 15 consecutive months
According to CCTV News Network, as one of the regions with the most active economic development and the highest degree of openness in China, the import and export scale of the Yangtze River Delta in the first five months of this year hit a record high in the same period, maintaining growth for 15 consecutive months, demonstrating the strong resilience and vitality of China's economy.
According to customs statistics, the total import and export value of the Yangtze River Delta region reached 7.82 trillion yuan in the first five months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 16.2%, setting a new historical high for the same period and accounting for 37.8% of the country's total import and export value. Among them, exports amounted to 4.92 trillion yuan, accounting for 41.3% of the total national exports. The export of high-end manufacturing products such as ships, integrated circuits, and robots has achieved double-digit high-speed growth.
In the first five months, imports amounted to 2.9 trillion yuan. The demand for raw materials and high-end components required for industrial production continues to increase, supporting the stable production of advanced manufacturing industries in the region.
The vitality of foreign trade entities continues to be released. Private enterprises imported and exported 4.22 trillion yuan in the first five months, accounting for 54% of the total foreign trade value of the Yangtze River Delta.
In addition, in the first five months, the import and export of the Yangtze River Delta region to countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road" increased by 17.5% year on year; Imports and exports to emerging markets such as ASEAN, Latin America, and Africa increased by 25.5%, 9.3%, and 14% respectively. The resilience of foreign trade development continues to strengthen.
