On July 3rd, a ship loaded with 111 tons of imported wild frozen seafood from South Korea, including hairtail, silver pomfret, and blue spotted mackerel, docked at the Rongcheng Shidao Port and was released under the supervision of Rongcheng Customs under Qingdao Customs. It will soon be shipped to markets across the country through cold chain logistics.

In January of this year, China and South Korea signed a memorandum of understanding focusing on the trade of wild aquatic products and other fields. According to the announcement of the General Administration of Customs, China has officially opened up the entry of compliant South Korean chilled aquatic products, further opening up the cooperation channel between China and South Korea for all categories of aquatic products.

Rongcheng faces South Korea across the sea and has three passenger and cargo shipping routes between China and South Korea. Relying on this geographical advantage, Rongcheng Customs, a subsidiary of Qingdao Customs, comprehensively utilizes the "Policy Toolbox" to promote the development of Rongcheng's import of Korean wild frozen seafood products and meet the high-quality consumption demand of the domestic market.

We have opened a 24-hour exclusive customs clearance channel, and goods that have not been selected for inspection can complete the full process of customs clearance and release in only 2 to 6 hours, "said Li Jianxia, Deputy Director of Rongcheng Customs Office in Shidao Port.

On this basis, Rongcheng Customs has piloted the new model of "enterprise whitelist+sampling release". For "whitelist" enterprises with overseas enterprise audit capabilities, long-term stable supply of goods, and standardized management systems, customs will verify the accompanying documents such as foreign official certificates and pass the inspection before granting quick release. At the same time, we will improve the system of supplier evaluation, traceability and recall, and build a closed-loop supervision system throughout the entire chain to ensure that fresh seafood products can be effectively managed.

Ice fresh aquatic products have extremely high requirements for timeliness, and the fast customs clearance mode allows us to seize market opportunities, "said Liu Haili, Deputy General Manager of Shandong Deyu International Freight Forwarding Co., Ltd.

According to statistics, in the first five months of this year, Rongcheng Customs supervised the import of wild frozen seafood products from South Korea worth 120 million yuan, of which the import volume of newly approved categories accounted for over 70%. (Song Mingchao, Guo Rui/Wen)
