On July 1st, more than 60 large cotton picking machines were neatly parked at the roll on/roll off dock of Tianjin Port. Customs officers from Tianjin Xingang conducted on-site inspections of each equipment. After the inspection is completed, this batch of cotton picking machines will rush to core cotton production areas such as Xinjiang and Gansu, seize the harvest window period, and be put into the front line of agricultural operations in a timely manner.

Tianjin Port has a professional roll on/roll off terminal that connects the railway and highway networks in the northwest. It is a leading agricultural machinery import and distribution port in northern China and has become the main landing channel for heavy agricultural equipment such as cotton harvesters, large harvesters, and high-powered tractors.

In response to the prominent seasonal and timely characteristics of agricultural machinery imports, Tianjin Xingang Customs has coordinated supervision and services, launched a set of customized and convenient customs clearance measures, and assisted in the efficient clearance of imported agricultural machinery. Establish a liaison officer system for agricultural machinery import enterprises, coordinate with importers and customs declaration enterprises in advance regarding ship arrival plans, equipment models, and transportation routes, provide online guidance for enterprises to prepare all necessary documents, and fully implement the "early declaration" mode, completing declaration and tax payment before the goods arrive at the port. Establish a dedicated "green channel" for agricultural machinery, implement round the clock appointment inspection, and ensure that equipment is inspected upon arrival. Optimize the inspection process, synchronously carry out multiple inspections such as equipment appearance, safety protection devices, and single item consistency, and minimize inspection time to the greatest extent possible.

Cotton picking machines are highly seasonal agricultural machinery, and generally need to be imported and debugged from June to August to ensure normal operation during the peak harvesting period from September to November. One cotton picking machine can harvest hundreds of acres of cotton a day, and if the equipment is transported to the factory for debugging one day earlier, we can rest assured. Cotton farmers are also looking forward to the smooth arrival of these 'iron cows', "said Wang Dong, Deputy General Manager of the Customs Clearance Agency in Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone, with emotion." Customs provided guidance in advance, quickly inspected and released, and this batch of cotton picking machines was delivered three or four days earlier than expected, saving us logistics and time costs

According to statistics, in the first half of this year, the total value of imported agricultural machinery under supervision at Tianjin Xingang Port exceeded 276 million yuan. (Cheng Hao, Yang Nan/Wen)
