North Atlantic salmon 'flies' quickly to clear customs
On the morning of July 6th at 9 o'clock, a batch of 2 tons of fresh salmon produced in the North Atlantic arrived at the Shenzhen Airport International Cargo Terminal. Customs officers at Shenzhen Bao'an Airport quickly complete the document review, inspection and quarantine supervision process before releasing the goods. This batch of fresh ocean frozen seafood is quickly transported to major fresh markets, supermarkets, and restaurants in southern China, meeting the consumer demand for high-quality imported frozen seafood products among citizens.
Relying on well-established international air routes and mature cold chain facilities, Shenzhen Airport Port has become an important air freight cold chain hub in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, and a key gateway for overseas high-end fresh seafood to enter the South China market.
Frozen aquatic products have a short shelf life and require extremely high customs clearance speed. To this end, Shenzhen Customs has optimized the supervision of imported aquatic products and innovatively launched the "whitelist+sampling release" model. All high-quality enterprises included in the whitelist can be directly released for sale after on-site sampling of their imported fresh seafood products. The port has implemented convenient measures such as early declaration, machine side diversion, and all-weather customs clearance to compress the clearance time of fresh goods.
Wang Xiaocui, General Manager of Shenzhen Yianda Supply Chain Co., Ltd., deeply felt this: "Customs guided us in advance to complete the pre arrival declaration of goods. After the flight landed, goods that did not need to be inspected were released directly. Goods that needed to be inspected were transported by refrigerated trucks throughout the process, and on-site inspections were completed on the spot. This not only greatly saved customs clearance time, but also greatly reduced the risk of spoilage and loss of fresh seafood products
While we strictly supervise the front-end of the port, we also regularly review and verify the sales ledger, storage cold chain conditions, and traceability of imported goods in the back-end of the local area. We closely monitor the circulation process of imported fresh seafood products after they enter the market, and strictly guard the food safety checkpoint on the public's tongue, "said Lin Pengcheng, Deputy Director of the Hydration Business Department of the Import and Export Food Safety Department of Shenzhen Customs.
According to statistics, in the first half of this year, the import volume of chilled aquatic products at Shenzhen Airport port reached 14300 tons, a year-on-year increase of 64.4%. (Ye Junchao, Lin Pengcheng/Text)
