On July 4th, under the supervision of Jiaozhou Customs under Qingdao Customs, a GMS (Greater Mekong Subregion) transport vehicle loaded with frozen livestock and poultry products departed from the Silk Road E-commerce Comprehensive Service Base in the SCO Demonstration Zone and departed for Vientiane, Laos. This marks the official opening of the GMS international road transport route from the SCO Demonstration Zone to Wanxiang, Laos.
The Greater Mekong Subregion Economic Cooperation Mechanism was established in 1992, with members including China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. GMS transportation has the policy advantage of "one permit for six countries", and cold chain vehicles do not need to be changed throughout the entire process. Compared with traditional sea rail intermodal transportation, the overall transportation time is shortened by more than 40%, especially suitable for exporting cold and fresh products such as frozen meat that require strict temperature control and timeliness requirements.
Jiaozhou Customs, a subsidiary of Qingdao Customs, has made advance arrangements and customized a full chain exclusive supervision service plan. We carry out qualification verification in advance, reviewing the registration of export food production enterprises, overseas access qualifications, etc. item by item, strictly checking the factory number and product specifications, and ensuring that the goods certificate is consistent. "Song Tao, Deputy Director of Jiaozhou Customs, introduced that the customs completes the entire process of customs declaration review, on-site inspection, and locking and sealing at the supervision site in one go. The vehicle only needs to undergo seal verification at the exit port, without the need for secondary unpacking inspection, truly realizing" one vehicle direct delivery ".
Since this year, the SCO Demonstration Zone has continued to organize and densify the transportation network for other SCO member countries and countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road". At present, the SCO demonstration zone has formed a dual channel linkage land transportation layout with northward TIR access to Eurasia and southward GMS radiation to Southeast Asia, and the construction of a multi-dimensional international highway facilitation transportation system has reached a new level.
