People's Daily: In the first four months of the year, the import and export of food trade in China increased by 6.5% year-on-year

According to Shanghai Customs statistics, in the first four months of 2026, the total import and export value of the Yangtze River Delta region reached 6.14 trillion yuan, a new historical high for the same period, with a year-on-year growth of 15.9%, accounting for 37.8% of the country's total import and export value. Among them, exports amounted to 3.83 trillion yuan and imports amounted to 2.31 trillion yuan, accounting for 41% and 33.5% of the total national export and import value, respectively, with year-on-year growth of 13.6% and 20.1%.
In the first four months, the import and export of the Yangtze River Delta region to countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road" was 3.09 trillion yuan, up 17.1% year on year, accounting for 37.4% of the total import and export value of the country jointly building the "the Belt and Road" in the same period; Imports and exports to other RCEP member countries amounted to 2.13 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.9%, accounting for 41.2% of the country's total imports and exports to other RCEP member countries during the same period; Imports and exports to ASEAN countries amounted to 1.03 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 23.7%, accounting for 37.6% of the total import and export value of the country to ASEAN countries during the same period.
