The World Cup event economy is heating up, and the export of sports goods and equipment in Fujian Province is steadily increasing

As the 2026 World Cup between the United States, Canada, and Mexico approaches, global demand for sports consumption is concentrated, driving a significant increase in foreign trade orders for sports equipment, fitness equipment, and sportswear. In the first four months of this year, the export of sports goods and equipment in Fujian Province reached 4.28 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.9%, ushering in an early outbreak of World Cup orders.

The European Union is the main market for the export of sports goods in Fujian Province, with an export value of 1.07 billion yuan, an increase of 21%, accounting for 25.1% of the total export value of sports goods and equipment in Fujian Province during the same period. At the same time, the heat of the World Cup has driven rapidly rising demand in emerging markets such as Latin America and Africa, with exports to them increasing by 61.8% and 36.1% respectively.

Fitness equipment and public leisure sports products are the main export products. Among them, treadmill exports amounted to 540 million yuan, an increase of 26.9%. In addition, exports of grass tennis rackets and roller skates increased by 29.9% and 23.8% respectively, showing impressive performance.

The dominant advantage of general trade is prominent, with exports reaching 2.82 billion yuan, an increase of 18.8%, accounting for 65.9% of the total export value of sports goods and equipment in Fujian Province during the same period; The export of processing trade reached 1.29 billion yuan, an increase of 82.5%, accounting for 30%. Enterprises are no longer limited to low-end processing and manufacturing, and the trade value chain continues to climb towards high-end links such as research and development, design, branding, and sales.

Private entities took the lead in exports, exporting 2.41 billion yuan, an increase of 26.6%, accounting for 56.3%.

In order to seize the economic opportunities of the World Cup and fully ensure the stable growth of foreign trade in sports goods, Fuzhou Customs focuses on the export demand of Fujian's sports industry. In response to the export characteristics of multiple batches, tight deadlines, and diverse categories of World Cup equipment, a special window for World Cup material clearance has been opened to achieve "zero delay and zero waiting" for the clearance of sports goods. At the same time, convenient measures such as intelligent approval and self-service printing of certificates of origin will be implemented, significantly reducing the entire process time of enterprise declaration, review, and certification, and lowering the clearance time and logistics costs for enterprises. In addition, a "one-on-one" assistance mechanism will be established for key sports enterprises, with precise guidance on product classification and export compliance training. Leveraging the intellectual property customs protection mechanism, Fujian's independent brand sports equipment will be escorted overseas, providing customs protection for Fujian's sports goods to grab orders and expand markets.
