Fujian Mirror expands its "visual" field - Fujian's exports of glasses and their components surged by 20.1% in January and February

As one of the important eyewear production bases in China, Fujian has gathered a complete industrial chain from the manufacturing of spare parts such as lenses and frames to the assembly of finished lenses, unleashing export vitality. According to Xiamen Customs statistics, from January to February, Fujian exported glasses and their parts worth 410 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.1%.

According to customs data, foreign-invested enterprises are the main exporter of Fujian's eyewear and its parts. In January and February, foreign-invested enterprises in Fujian exported eyewear and its parts worth 250 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.9%, accounting for over 60% of the total export value of Fujian's eyewear and its parts during the same period. During the same period, private enterprises in Fujian performed well, exporting glasses and their parts worth 140 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 63.4%, accounting for 34.9%. In addition, from January to February, state-owned enterprises exported glasses and their parts worth 16.21 million yuan, accounting for 4%.

According to officials from Xiamen Customs, the European Union is the main market for the export of Fujian glasses and their components. In January and February, Fujian exported 150 million yuan worth of glasses and their parts to the European Union, a year-on-year increase of 37.1%, accounting for 36% of Fujian's total exports of glasses and their parts during the same period; Among them, the main exports were to Italy, France, and Spain, with export values of 43.08 million yuan, 35.18 million yuan, and 27.22 million yuan, respectively, an increase of 38.7%, 69.5%, and 85.7% year-on-year.

From the perspective of category structure, sunglasses are the core category driving the export of glasses and their components. According to statistics, from January to February, Fujian exported sunglasses worth 220 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17.9%, accounting for 53.2% of the total export value of Fujian's glasses and their parts during the same period, driving the export growth of Fujian's glasses and their parts by 9.7 percentage points.

Entering the production workshop of Zhangzhou Dongli Optical Technology Co., Ltd., the automated production line is operating at full capacity. After several processes such as cutting and bending, a pair of anti blue light goggles "shine" and are about to enter the overseas market. With the increasing outdoor activities in spring and summer, eye sunscreen products such as sunglasses have also experienced a 'small peak' in export orders. According to Chen Jinda, Deputy General Manager of Dongli Optics Co., Ltd., the company's export value has exceeded 2 million yuan in January and February this year, and its products are selling well in countries and regions such as Germany, Italy, and Australia.

In order to serve more high-quality and cost-effective Fujian made glasses and their parts and expand exports, Xiamen Customs actively carries out activities such as "Customs Director's Door to Door Policy Delivery" and "Entering Thousands of Enterprises, Solving Thousands of Problems" to promote RCEP rules of origin, intellectual property customs protection and other policies to glasses and their parts production and export enterprises, helping them to enjoy the benefits of favorable policies. At the same time, the customs have implemented convenient measures such as applying for certificates of origin on mobile devices and making customs appointments to ensure efficient customs clearance for the export of glasses and their parts.
